Paolo Pavan – [2009] Looking for a Way Out

This album comprises 6 slow and mellow jazz tracks by the Italian artist Paolo Pavan. The jazz combo consists of tenor saxophone, drums, bass and piano. This release is on the edge of smooth jazz and fusion, i.e. it can’t decide whether you sit in a smoky bar after your third bourbon or are at home in your designer living room, thinking about new paintings to buy. As usual, I select two representative songs for you to decide whether the full album is worth your precious listening time!

Pablito’s Way should be the album’s opening song. It has energy and rhythm that will make you move your feet…

Second is a great example of the album’s slight melancholy, while never sounding sad. A thoughtful piece with a one-minute intro, before the saxophone takes over the motif.

Paolo Pavan hört sich sehr gut an. Frisch und ohne Schnörkel. Guter Tipp. Gruß Pa.
